Amanda Fakeerah

Amanda is a dedicated advocate for children’s rights, working to raise awareness and influence policy change to ensure the best interests of children are at the heart of decision-making. With a strong background in the third sector, she collaborates with charities such as the Access Committee for Leeds, and the Law & Social Justice Dept (Leeds University), advocating for children and young people who face discrimination and inequality. Amanda balanced her advocacy work with studying for a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) while actively engaging in policy reform and social justice initiatives.
Amanda has also built a career in journalism and communications, covering global projects across news, independent film, government, and corporate industries. Her work has been featured in The South China Morning Post, the Department of Trade and Industry News (Westminster), and Tatler, amongst others. She has led editorial content, press communications, and strategic campaigns for clients including the London Chamber of Commerce, the Canadian Tourism Commission, and Marriott International.
Beyond her professional work, Amanda enjoys boxing, horse riding, yoga, and spending time with her teenage son and their dog, Otto.
